Welcome to my personal website. As you can see, it is a bit dull and a little haphazard. Nowhere near what a modern website is.
But I am not a web developer, I am a data analyst, that is where my passion lies.
However, I hope this, mostly self-coded website gives some insight into my abilities and expertise in the programming world.
Either way, most of my energy will be spent familiarizing myself with more analyst-centered subjects.
My main objective right now is to get better at Python.
I have become well acquainted with SQL and Power BI and believe this is the logical next step for advancing my career.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I have built.
Thank you for taking the time to look into me.
A litle about me.
I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, a suburb southeast of Phoenix. I attended Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona, where I
recieved my bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration and fell in love with the woods. After college I moved back down to Phoenix and
hopped around for a little bit before completing a data analyst bootcamp through the University of Arizona which allowed me to secure my current position
at Southwest Network.
Over the last three and a half years in this position I have been able to grow tremendously in my abilities. I am well versed in SQL, having no problem
querying most requests. Additionally it has been my main responsibility to create and continue to improve Power BI in our organization.
In late 2024 we downgraded our office space, as many companies did after COVID, and I jumped at the opportunity to go fully remote.
Being blessed to do so I sold most of my belongings and moved across the country to Portland, Maine, where I now reside full time.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time outdoors. I have a nine year old border collie named Maggie and we go on a lot of long walks, hikes
and bike rides. I'm a pretty good cook, I also enjoy lifting, gaming, reading and I am an avid snowboarder and cycler.
Data Analytics Certificate
Six month data analytics bootcamp offered through University of Arizona, taught by Trilogy education.
During this bootcamp we learned essential programming skills that data scientists use everyday. Including
Microsoft VBA, Python, SQL, HTML, Javascript, R, and Tableau.
Check out the projects that we did above!
B.S. Economics and Business Administration
Four year degree that covered advanced business practices, supply chain management, process flow, and economics. Economic courses included basic statistics, advanced micro and macro economics, econometrics, and a capstone applying these courses to a real world senario.
Using Win32 you can easily automate reoccuring excel reports and send them through Outlook.
This is specifically for excel reports that have a SQL stored procedure connected and simply need to be refreshed and emailed out.
I'm sure there is a way you can also use OpenPyXL to go in to the excel file, make some changes and then have it refreshed and sent out.
Adding a little complexity to the script.
I haven't been able to successfuly write something that works. But will continue trying!
If you are using Jupyter like I am you can install Jupyter Scheduler on JupyterLab and then you don't even have to look at the reports.
If you need to be connected to a VPN to access your organization's data then that is one inconvenience.
Either way, this is a good way to save some time.
